About Dreamscape Web Designs
...~*~...Dreamscape Web Designs was created by myself, Brenda Barnhart. I never knew I had a passion for web design until November 2003, when I was suddenly hit with an idea to get my poems on a webpage to share. A quick search on the internet led me to Homestead; a complete do-it-yourself hosting program that included everything needed for someone who knows nothing about starting a web site.
I joined Homestead and over the first year I had mastered their software and became a regular helper and critiquer in their community forum. By this time I had created four websites for myself, including one which was a directory of websites for all Homestead members.
But by this time I was begining to outgrow Homestead. I had such a thirst for learning everything I could about web design and other software programs. My capabilities had me searching in uncharted territories (by me) for something that offered me more freedom with my sites (Homestead is great for beginners but is very restrictive to those with more experience. You don't have access to your html or css codes, among many other limitations).
So I signed up with a different host that gave me complete control over all of my stuff. I taught myself Dreamweaver and other Macromedia software, and moved all of my sites to their new home. I've been here ever since and I continue to quench my thirst for more and more knowledge by learning as much as I can.
I now write the HTML and CSS coding myself for all of my and my customers' sites (unless they already hosted with and use a site builder program such as Homestead or Yahoo).
